Kroger Southwest Division Appoints Parucki VP Of Merchandising

Ron Parucki, VP of operations for Kroger’s Southwest Division, will take on the new role of VP of merchandising for the the division, which operates 210 stores, 201 pharmacies and 113 fuel centers in Texas and Louisiana.

Parucki replaces Jayne Homco, who recently was promoted to president of Kroger’s Michigan Division. Parucki’s replacement will be announced at a later date.

Parucki began his career with Kroger as an assistant store manager at Fry’s Food Store in 1988. Since then, he has served the company in various leadership positions, including district manager and director of grocery merchandising. In 2006, he was recruited for a special assignment to lead the Mercado project, a new store design concept. Parucki then was promoted to VP of operations for Fry’s in 2006. He transitioned to his most recent role in the Kroger Southwest Division in 2011.

Parucki is known for his passion to drive results as well as his upbeat, engaging personality, Kroger Southwest says, adding that as VP of operations, he has played an integral role in enhancing the customer shopping experience and positively influencing employees. He serves as the executive sponsor for the division’s cultural council employee development program and also is a board member for The Woodland’s Economic Development Committee.

Company ratifies agreement with UFCW 540

Associates working at Kroger stores in the Dallas area have ratified a new labor agreement with United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 540.

“We are pleased to reach an agreement that is good for our meat department associates. It provides a solid compensation package of wages and benefits, including affordable health care and pension for retirement,” says Bill Breetz, president of the Kroger Southwest Division. “This agreement is the outcome of thoughtful, respectful and productive work by both the company and union representatives. I want to thank our associates for supporting this agreement and for the excellent service they provide every day to our customers and company.”

The three-year agreement covers more than 720 meat department associates working in 89 stores in the Dallas area.
