Two businesses in Orange County, N.Y., have been awarded state grants to aid in expansions that will create jobs, www.poughkeepsiejournal.com reports.

One is C&S Wholesale Grocers, which is buying an existing 175,000-s.f. facility and constructing a 345,000-s.f. refrigerated addition along with acquiring and installing machinery and equipment to expand the company’s operations in Chester, N.Y.

C&S will get $1,353,000.

The project will retain 285 jobs and create 445 new jobs, reports say. This includes at least 330 new full-time permanent and up to 115 new full-time contract employees. The total project cost is $66,595,614.

Belmay Inc., a maker of fragrances used in consumer products, will buy, lease and install machinery to automate production at Chester and Yonkers sites.
