Piggly Wiggly Carolina Expands Online Grocery Service

Last updated on August 16th, 2012 at 12:04 pm

After successfully offering online shopping in 10 stores for the past four years, Piggly Wiggly Carolina has expanded its Click’n Shop program to 26 additional locations, nearly tripling Piggly Wiggly’s eCommerce presence in South Carolina.

With MyWebGrocer’s Click’n Shop online shopping solution, Piggly Wiggly Carolina shoppers can purchase groceries online and choose to pick up their purchases at the store or have them delivered. Shoppers also have access to online circulars to easily view weekly sale items and add them to their cart.

“It’s always been a priority of Piggly Wiggly to offer customers new ways to save money and time during their shopping experience. This drove our initial decision to add online shopping to 10 of our stores,” said Robert Masche, chief supply chain officer at Piggly Wiggly Carolina. “The program has been profitable and a proven way to acquire and retain our customers. It only makes sense for us to expand this to new markets. We believe our online grocery channel will continue to grow as word of its quality and convenience spreads.”

Curt Alpeter, MyWebGrocer EVP, added, “Piggly Wiggly saw an increase in traffic and basket size when they initially added eCommerce. We’re confident they will continue to see a sales lift with the addition of Click’n Shop to 26 more locations. We are excited to continue our partnership with Piggly Wiggly.”

Piggly Wiggly Carolina is part of a network of 114 other grocery retailers that use MyWebGrocer services.
