Jones Soda Enters Sparkling Beverage Market

Jones Soda Inc. will expand into the sparkling beverage market with the introduction of its new Au Naturel sparkling line, the Puget Sound Business Journal reports.

The Seattle-based soda company said the new products contain carbonated water, natural sweeteners and green tea extracts with a small amount of natural caffeine. Jones said the sparkling beverage market is growing and has more shelf space dedicated to it than premium soda. Jones will initially sell three flavors—Green Apple A Day, Lemon Limelight and Orange Ya Glad Its Mango—in 16.9-oz. plastic bottles at a retail price of $1.79 each.

“For our fans who may have outgrown full calorie sodas, and for the many consumers seeking natural, low calorie options, we’ve created something truly unique and exciting with fewer calories and less sugar,” Bill Meissner, CEO of Jones Soda, said in a statement.
