Popsicle Unveils The Yosicle

Last updated on September 7th, 2012 at 11:23 am

Lots of unexpected combinations have turned out to be winning success stories, like chocolate and peanut butter, bacon and dates, or blue cheese and steak. The list goes on and, at Popsicle®, it now includes Yosicle(TM). Yosicle is the iconic brand’s latest introduction that combines the classic taste of Popsicle pops with the creamy deliciousness of yogurt. This unexpected combination is sure to be a big hit among families and Popsicle fans across the U.S. as it becomes readily available in stores this month.

“We’re always searching for exciting new flavors to present to our Popsicle fans,” said Brian Critz, senior brand manager for Popsicle. “We know families enjoy the tastes of yogurt and Popsicle, so we combined the two flavors to create a unique Popsicle experience that they can share together.”

Available in four fun varieties, featuring three unique shapes, Yosicle pops contain 10 percent nonfat yogurt and are an excellent source of calcium per two-pop serving.

• Yosicle Torpedo!(TM) pops feature three flavors in one low-fat, creamy pop: Purple Berry, Watermelon and Vanilla.

• Yosicle Layerz!(TM) pops feature two flavors per low-fat pop and are made with flavored ice on the top and creamy deliciousness on the bottom. They are available in two flavors: Cotton Candy & Vanilla and Orange & Vanilla.

• Yosicle Duos!(TM) pops feature creamy deliciousness on the inside with flavored ice on the outside. These low-fat pops have two flavors on each stick and are available in two variety boxes: Watermelon-Vanilla and Cotton Candy-Vanilla or Purple Berry-Vanilla and Cherry-Vanilla.

In addition to launching the new Yosicle line, the Popsicle brand has partnered with another classic candy brand to bring an exciting flavor to stores. New Popsicle Sour Patch Kids(TM) ice pops are designed to replicate the unique Sour Then Sweet(TM) taste combination for that Sour Patch Kids candy is known. Each ice pop has a sour ice shell and a sweet ice center, and is available in three flavors (Lime, Raspberry and Orange).

Boxes of Yosicle and Popsicle pops are available in grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.99. A Popsicle Sour Patch Kids variety also will be available as a single-serve item.
