With more Americans looking to incorporate healthier yet satisfying foods into their diets, Wonder®, a classic American bread brand, has introduced three new wheat breads that combine wholesome nutrition with the taste of Wonder that families love.

New Wonder 100% Whole Wheat, Honey Wheat and Wheat Sandwich varieties are baked with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, contain 25 percent less sodium than traditional wheat breads and have 0g of trans fat. Each offers a different twist on wheat bread to meet a range of tastes and nutritional needs. Wonder 100% Whole Wheat bread contains 28g of whole grains per serving.

The packaging for all of Wonder’s new wheat varieties feature “Nutritional Notes” that clearly display important nutritional facts to help busy families make informed choices. Wonder 100% Whole Wheat, Honey Wheat and Wheat Sandwich breads are available in grocery stores across the country.

“American families are increasingly opting for healthier foods and looking for ways to reduce their intake of sodium and increase the amount of dietary fiber and whole grains in their diets,” said Stephanie Fletcher, brand manager for the bakers of Wonder. “Wonder makes it easier and more delicious to make healthy choices with our new line of wheat breads that offer the nutrition families want from a brand they know and love.”

The three new wheat varieties are the latest in Wonder’s long history of products with enhanced nutrition. In recent years, Wonder has introduced Smartwhite(TM), Smartwheat(TM) and Smartwhite(TM) for Kids—a line of breads with no high fructose corn syrup, the same amount of fiber as 100 percent whole wheat breads, the calcium of an 8-oz. glass of milk and only 50 calories per slice.

Wonder’s most popular breads—Wonder Classic and Wonder Classic Sandwich—provide the same amount of calcium as 8 ozs. of milk and are good sources of vitamin D, which helps the body absorb calcium better. Wonder was one of the first brands to introduce a white bread made with whole grain—Wonder Made with Whole Grain White—and it was one of the first major bread brands to include nutrition information on its packaging.

Wonder 100% Whole Wheat, Honey Wheat and Wheat Sandwich breads will be added as a new bread variety on the Sandwich Wonder-izer® which enables consumers to create unique sandwich combinations from a list of more than 120 ingredients. The Sandwich Wonder-izer can create billions of sandwiches and, at the same time, show users how close they come to fulfilling the daily recommended amounts of key vitamins and minerals. The Sandwich Wonder-izer is available online at www.wonderbread.com.
