As part of its continued commitment to the Hispanic community, Vallarta Supermarkets is bringing the Feria del Mercado y de La Salud events to the Latino communities it serves; hat includes Victorville, Tulare, Baldwin Park, Valley Glen, Palmdale, Porterville, Fresno and Bakersfield. Families and friends have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of free benefits such as health screenings, wellness information and valuable related educational materials in a festive atmosphere.

An estimated total of more than 6,500 free health checkups are expected to be conducted during the weekend events in the month of August. Among the most popular are: glucose/diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index, vision, dental, vaccines, mammogram mobile unit, anti-drug prevention, family planning consultations and more.

Feria del Mercado y de La Salud store-front-events encourage families to have a healthier lifestyle with information and free health checkups. The information available educates and shows the Latino communities how to create and maintain healthy habits that will prevent serious illnesses. Consumers will walk away from these events with a sense of empowerment, knowing they have received the latest information on healthy eating so they can make well-informed decisions at home, according to a company news release.

Vallarta Supermarkets is an independently owned supermarket chain that has grown to a total of 40 stores throughout California (Ventura, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Kern, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Tulare, Orange and Fresno counties).
