The National Grocers Association (NGA) has appointed Steve Hall, president of Lowes Foods in Hickory, N.C., to serve on the NGA Board of Directors. The announcement was made during a board meeting at NGA’s Fall Conference in Minneapolis last week.
“We are pleased to welcome Steve to NGA’s board of directors. His extensive background, expertise and knowledge of the food industry spans over 35 years making him a great addition to NGA’s leadership,” said Joe Sheridan, NGA chairman of the board.
Hall came to the Alex Lee Family of Cos. from C&S Wholesale, where he was SVP of sales and marketing. He has experience with both marketing and procurement as well as with the customer sales and service side of the business. Prior to joining C&S Wholesale, Hall worked with several grocery store chains, including Purity Supermarkets, H-E-B and Fred Meyer, as well as Supervalu. Early in his career he also sold for the General Foods Corp.
