Del Monte Fresh Produce on Sept. 29 participated in two charity events hosted by Miami Children’s Hospital and other partners including Publix, Hyundai and Total Bank. Brand ambassadors in Del Monte banana costumes distributed fresh fruit to participants at both events.
“We were happy to support these two worthwhile events with a small healthy token of appreciation to all those participants who raised funds for such an important institution in our community,” said Dennis Christou, Del Monte Fresh Produce VP of North America marketing.
In addition to the healthy snacks distributed to runners participating in the second annual Miami Children’s Hospital 5K race held at Coral Gables City Hall, the two brand ambassadors, wearing Del Monte banana costumes, provided attendees with a variety of humorous photo ops.
Not too far away, participants in the Miami Paddle Challenge held at Matheson Hammock Park were in for a unique surprise when they were joined by five giant paddling Del Monte bananas. The five paddle boarding bananas finished the three-mile race along with canoes, paddle boards, kayaks and other vessels. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
