Ahold has appointed James McCann as COO of Ahold USA, effective Feb. 1, 2013. He will take over the role from Carl Schlicker, who has announced his retirement. McCann will continue as a member of Ahold’s corporate executive board.

This appointment is a natural next step for James. With his international experience in leading roles at global retailers, James is very well qualified to take on this important role within Ahold.

James McCann (British, 43) joined Ahold in 2011 as chief commercial and development officer. A search for his successor has been initiated.
McCann and his wife will move to the U.S. early next year, and McCann will divide his time between both the Quincy and the Carlisle Ahold USA support offices in Pennsylvania.
