Lund Food Holdings Inc. (LFHI), parent company to 22 Lunds and Byerly’s stores in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, has promoted two key executives, a company news release says.

Phil Lombardo (left) has been promoted to the new position of chief marketing and merchandising officer. Jim Geisler (right) has been promoted to the new position of COO.

“Our organization is deeply committed to further growth and development, and the most effective way to achieve that goal is through a deep level of collaboration across all departments of our organization,” says Tres Lund, president and CEO of LFHI. “Jim and Phil have both demonstrated strong business acumen, collaborative leadership and an inspiring level of team building.”

Lombardo has been in the grocery industry for more than 30 years. He joined LFHI in 2002 as director of non‐perishables. In 2004 he was promoted to senior director of non‐perishables before becoming VP of sales and marketing in 2005. In his new role as chief marketing and merchandising officer, Lombardo is responsible for sales, marketing, manufacturing and information services.

Geisler, who has more than 40 years of grocery retail experience, joined LFHI in 1995 as a store manager and was later promoted to store director. He was promoted to VP of store operations in 1997 and became SVP of operations in 2004. In his new role as COO, Geisler is responsible for store operations, store development, human resources and finance.

LFHI operates 11 Lunds and 11 Byerly’s grocery stores in the Twin Cities and surrounding area. Every store features certified organic produce, signature Lunds and Byerly’s products, dry‐aged beef and more.
