Kroger Tops FMI Future Connect Attendance With 200 Associates

Kroger's Rodney McMullen

The Kroger Co. dominated the Food Marketing Institute’s Future Connect conference when it came to attendance. The Cincinnati-based grocery giant had 230 associates attend the event, held earlier this week in Orlando.

Rodney McMullen, Kroger president and COO, told The Shelby Report at the conference that Future Connect allows associates to “get exposure to the industry, plus some great speakers and some great topics that will help their careers. And we have a wide range of talent but it’s all out future leaders, so we’re very pleased to be here.”

The company’s “high talented” associates are, according to McMullen, “people who will have bigger jobs somewhere in the future of their careers.

“It’s people with big runways,” he added.

The 2013 FMI Future Connect marked the third year that Kroger has attended the bi-annual event, which was chaired this year by Kroger Chairman and CEO David Dillon.
