Grocers Supply Co.

Houston-based Grocers Supply Co. plans to build a $50 million regional distribution hub in South Dallas. The Dallas Business Journal reports that the new facility could employ as many as 350 workers by the end of 2015.

Grocers Supply, which supplies independent grocery chains that include Carnival, Harlan’s, Piggly Wiggly and Fiesta among many others, has been talking with City of Dallas officials about developing a 740,000-s.f. refrigerated and dry warehouse facility that would be expandable to 1.2 million s.f. on 129 acres near Cleveland and Blanco roads.

Construction could begin as soon as September, with completion in November 2014.
