Bertram Named SVP Of Store Strategy At Ahold USA

Ahold USA has appointed Nick Bertram as its SVP of store strategy and execution.

In this role, which will be based in Carlisle, Pa., Bertram will lead the development, optimization and delivery of key operational support processes in partnership with Ahold USA’s retail divisions, as well as managing new business ventures.

Bertram joins Ahold USA from Jewel-Osco, where he oversaw store operations across Illinois, Indiana and Iowa. Bertram served as SVP for Supervalu, and held other store operations positions of progressing responsibility with Walmart in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

“Nick brings years of solid retail operational experience and his expertise will be a valuable resource in our ongoing efforts to be a better place to shop,” said Bhavdeep Singh, EVP of operations.

Ahold USA is part of Ahold, a Dutch-based international food retailing group that operates supermarkets in the U.S. and Europe. Carlisle, Pa.-based Ahold USA supports four regional divisions—Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro, Giant Landover and Giant Carlisle—which together operate nearly 775 supermarkets in 14 states and D.C., along with online delivery service Peapod.
