Coffee lovers and fitness enthusiasts are celebrating as Garden of Life launches fair trade, Marley Coffee flavors of its best-selling Raw Protein and Raw Meal. Garden of Life President Brian Ray said the partnership reflects the company’s initiative to support sustainable, organic local family farms while offering premium, innovative whole foods nutritional supplements to consumers.
“We’re very pleased to partner with Marley Coffee, as the Marley brand is recognized and respected worldwide,” said Ray. “Raw Protein and Raw Meal are best sellers in health food stores nationwide because they are raw, vegan, USDA Certified Organic, non-GMO and gluten free. Adding fair trade organic Marley Coffee will be a treat for our thousands of protein and meal replacement devotees.”
Marley Coffee is an international gourmet coffee company founded by Rohan Marley, sourcing beans from around the world, including Ethiopia, Central America and Jamaica. The beans from Jamaica are from a 52-acre private estate that sits atop the Blue Mountains in Chepstowe, Portland, Jamaica, long revered as the region with the world’s most desirable coffee beans. From the Marley’s Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee farm, to partner farms in Africa, Central America and other top coffee-growing regions worldwide, Marley Coffee strives to support communities and the environment through organic, sustainable and ethical practices.
“We give thanks for this union,” said Rohan Marley, chairman and founder of Marley Coffee. “I have been following Garden of Life for some time and have been so impressed by their approach that I have tried to model many parts of Marley Coffee’s business after theirs. Currently, our coffees are distributed through Whole Foods in the Southern Pacific region, but this national launch of Marley Coffee flavored Garden of Life products will enable us to gain visibility at all Whole Foods.”
Made with raw organic sprouted grains, seeds, greens, fruits and vegetables, the products also contain Vitamin Code vitamins, minerals, live probiotics and enzymes. Marley Coffee Raw Protein Raw Meal are available exclusively at Whole Foods with special promotions that include coupons, free music downloads, giveaways on social media, custom T-shirts and appearances by Rohan Marley at select stores.
In 2011, Whole Foods Market recognized Garden of Life with its Vendor of the Year Award as the Best Non-Perishables Supplier. In addition, Garden of Life is the only vendor in Whole Body that is at the Supplier Alliance donation level with Whole Planet Foundation, contributing funds that will create 730 new micro loans that will help an estimated 4,300 people.

“The Marley brand stirs up a sense of passion, inspiration and transformation with consumers,” said Rohan Marley. “With our coffee, we are not placing a generic product on the shelf. We have a quality that is unsurpassed, and a ‘move-mant’ that resonates with consumers worldwide. That’s why upscale and forward-thinking companies like Ahold have embraced our products. We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship with our new friends at Ahold, especially Stop & Shop locations in New York, which I consider my other home.”
