Craft Brew Alliance Inc. (CBA), an independent craft brewing company, awarded Safeway, one of the largest food and drug retailers in North America, and Buffalo Wild Wings, a casual dining restaurant chain with more than 950 locations in the U.S. and Canada, during a beer conference in Las Vegas last week. Safeway took home the off-premise Retailer of the Year Award, while Buffalo Wild Wings received CBA’s first on-premise Retailer of the Year Award.
“Our retailers play a critical role in driving consumer awareness and demand for our distinctive, great-tasting beers, and we’re thrilled to honor Buffalo Wild Wings and Safeway for their outstanding support,” said Derek Hahm, VP of national sales operations at CBA. “Whether it’s through Buffalo Wild Wings’ eagerness to be first to market Redhook’s Game Changer to millions of wings, beer and sports fans, or through innovative in-store programming with Safeway, both of these retailers demonstrated exceptional support, and we wanted to find a special way to recognize their contributions.”
CBA’s beers include Widmer Brothers Brewing, Redhook Brewery, Kona Brewing Co., as well as the company’s newer brands Omission Brewing and Square Mile Cider Co.
