The National Grocers Association (NGA) has hired Laura Strange as its director of communications and marketing.

Strange, who most recently served as a communications director on Capitol Hill, is responsible for the implementation and advancement of communications and marketing strategies targeted for audiences and outlets on the national, local and industry-specific levels. She also will manage the association’s communications and marketing initiatives, with a focus on providing the most up-to-date information to NGA members, as well as develop content for various platforms, and serve as the primary contact for all news media.

“I am pleased to announce the addition of Laura to the NGA team,” said Peter J. Larkin, president and CEO of NGA. “Laura’s professional background, which includes time spent on Capitol Hill, as well as in the private sector and a trade association, will complement the goals and objectives of our communications department as we continue to expand the impact of our communications initiatives.”

In addition to having professional experience on Capitol Hill, Strange worked in the government affairs department for a Fortune 500 company, and in the communications and marketing division for a trade association. She earned a master’s degree in public relations from George Washington University and her undergraduate degree in communications from the University of South Carolina.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the NGA team, and look forward expanding NGA’s communications and marketing strategies, as well as conveying the association’s mission and value to a broader audience,” Strange said.
