Jason and Angie Cowley, current operators of Cowley’s Piggly Wiggly in Milton, Wis., have signed an agreement to purchase the Edgerton Piggly Wiggly store from Dave and Sandy Kotwitz, who plan to retire. The transaction is set to close Sept. 27, according to Piggly Wiggly Midwest.
Dave Kotwitz, who has been operating the Edgerton Piggly Wiggly store since 2004, has been in the grocery business for 42 years, all with Piggly Wiggly.
“I would like to thank my customers for their patronage and I am confident that Jason and his family will do a great job,” he said. “I will miss the people, but it’s the time in my life to enjoy retirement.”
Jason Cowley purchased the Milton Piggly Wiggly store in 2001. The Milton Piggly Wiggly has been through many renovations, including a store addition in 2008. The Cowleys both worked at the Edgerton Piggly Wiggly prior to purchasing the Milton store.
“It will be nice to see and reacquaint ourselves with the Edgerton community,” Cowley said. “We feel fortunate to be in two great cities and we strive to be involved locally as good business partners.”
Both Piggly Wiggly stores will continue to offer the same amenities that all Piggly Wigglys throughout Wisconsin offer, including its Pampered to Perfection Produce, in-store bakery, full-service deli department, a fresh meat department offering Certified Angus Beef, Gerber Amish Natural Chicken, Farmland Natural Pork, along with a variety of fresh and frozen seafood and a full liquor department.
Piggly Wiggly Midwest supplies 107 Piggly Wiggly supermarkets in the greater Wisconsin and northern Illinois areas, three Lena’s Foods stores in Milwaukee, nine Butera Market stores and two EuroFresh stores in the Chicagoland area.
