Kroger Mid-Atlantic stores hiring 1,500-plus

In other Kroger news, the Ohio-based company said in mid-September that its Mid-Atlantic stores, which include those in Virginia, is hiring more than 1,500 employees to fill an estimated 20,000 jobs in the company’s supermarket divisions.

“We are proud to be able to offer so many new, long-term job opportunities for individuals in our local Triangle community,” said Carl York, advertising and public relations manager for Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic marketing region. “We look forward to having these talented associates join our team and contribute to our continuing success and commitment to providing excellent service to our customers.”

In addition to Virginia,, Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic stores are located in North Carolina and West Virginia.
Over the last six years, Kroger has created more than 40,000 new jobs nationwide; that excludes jobs created as a result of capital investment, such as temporary construction jobs, nor does it include Harris Teeter’s approximately 25,000 associates who joined the Kroger family earlier this year. When those numbers are combined, Kroger today employs more than 375,000 associates.
