Wegmans, Publix, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods Market and Market Basket received good scores in customer satisfaction ratings for “America’s Best, Freshest Supermarkets,” a survey conducted by Consumer Reports. Supermarkets were rated for overall freshness and quality of produce, meats, poultry, bakery items and store prepared foods as well as staff courtesy and a clean shopping environment.

Wegmans was the top-rated store with an overall reader rating of 90 out of 100. It also was No. 1 in last year’s survey. Sixty-eight grocery stores were rated in the survey, which will be published in the May 2015 issue. Other supermarkets receiving praiseworthy scores included Trader Joe’s, Publix, The Fresh Market and Market Basket.
