Martignetti Cos., a major wine and liquor distributor in the Bay State, plans to build a new regional headquarters in Taunton, combining the offices of current facilities in Braintree and Norwood, Massachusetts. Currently based in Norwood, the company operates in Massachusetts as United Liquors, Carolina Wine & Spirits, Classic Wine and Commonwealth Wine & Spirits. In other New England states, the company is known as Martignetti Cos. of New Hampshire and Vermont; Rhode Island Distributing Co., through a joint venture; and Maine Beverage Co., as the exclusive distributor of spirits in the state.
Classic Imports, a wholly owned subsidiary of Martignetti Cos., sells and promotes craft spirits through a nationwide network of distributors.
The new 680,000-s.f. site would be located on 115 acres in the Taunton Myles Standish Industrial Park and would house nearly 800 employees and include an enlarged storage center and warehouse.
