Empire Canning Jars, a new joint venture led by Alliance Foods Inc., is being described as “the first new and independent line of true ‘Mason’ jars to reach the retail market in more than 25 years.”
Featuring thicker glass than other canning jars in the lip, shoulder, wall and base areas—as well as 100 percent BPA-free lids—Empire Canning Jars were created to offer both retailers and consumers another choice in a product category where competition has been very limited, Alliance says.
“We paid attention to every detail when designing our Empire Mason Jars to ensure they would meet home canners’ every need, allowing them to can with confidence,” said Sal Stazzone, president and CEO of Alliance Foods, based in Coldwater, Michigan. “And we’re thrilled to be able to offer both consumers and retailers another choice for home canning products—a choice they haven’t had in a very long time.”
