New York City May Require Salt Warning On Menus, And More…

The New York City Department of Health is moving closer to requiring restaurant chains to label menu items that are deemed high in sodium. New York City could become the first U.S. city to require salt warning labels. A health department vote is expected later this year. If passed it would affect chains operating 15 or more restaurants. The labels would be next to menu items containing more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium. The warning labels would appear in the form of a black and white saltshaker…

Saladworks, a fresh-tossed salad restaurant chain, has announced that New York-based Centre Lane Partners LLC has made an investment in the company and plans to invest substantial capital to accelerate the company’s growth nationwide, with a strategic focus along the I-95 corridor. Saladworks operates 108 franchise locations in 15 states and four countries internationally with more than 50 stores in development…

Dunkin’ Donuts is exploring mobile ordering, allowing customers the ability to place their orders via an app. Mobile ordering could be launched sometime in 2016.
