Barber Foods Expands Chicken Product Recall, And More…

Barber Foods of Portland, Maine, is recalling approximately 1,707,494 pounds of frozen, raw stuffed chicken products that may be contaminated with salmonella. According to the U.S. Department of Food Safety and Inspection Service, the chicken products were produced between Feb. 17 and May 20, 2015. The original recall was announced July 2 but expanded when the USDA announced two additional patients were identified with the illness. A cluster of people in Minnesota and Wisconsin were diagnosed with the illness, and the USDA linked it to the sale of frozen, raw stuffed chicken products from Barber Foods…

For the fourth year in a row, in honor of Flag Day, Big Y Foods collected worn, torn, faded or badly soiled American flags for retirement from May 21-June 10. Big Y has collected nearly 18,700 worn American flags since the program began. All worn flags were delivered to local Boy Scouts, American Legions, VFWs and military organizations to ensure proper retirement.
