Albertsons Cos. Inc. has selected KeHE Distributors as its primary distribution partner for natural and organic, specialty and fresh products to its more than 2,200 grocery stores in 33 states and the District of Columbia. This significantly expands KeHE’s existing business with Albertsons, particularly in the western U.S.
“Our account team has delivered superior operational results and helped Albertsons Cos. grow its business,” said Mike Leone, KeHE’s chief commercial officer. “This decision is an affirmation of that.”
With Illinois-based KeHE’s new distribution center in Northern California and planned upgrades this year to its distribution centers in Portland, Oregon, and Flower Mound, Texas, KeHE says it has the infrastructure and capacity to successfully manage Albertsons’ distribution requirements. KeHE says the expanded partnership will have a positive impact on its other customers as well. As a result of the increased business volume, service levels will be enhanced across the entire U.S. distribution network.
