Visual Graphic Systems (VGS) has installed a state-of-the-art digital menu board system at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York—allowing operators to easily change menu item images and providing patrons with calorie information and pricing.
VGS installed 300 monitors throughout concession stands around the stadium as well as club suites. Operation managers requested that individual concessions feature wall-to-wall monitors, some with up to 21 in a row. The monitors run dynamic menu board content, including custom video effects, which can easily be updated via tablet allowing stadium personnel to walk around and control every feature of the displays.
“We listened very closely to the stadium staff when designing layouts for the displays,” said Keith Laudati, a digital menu board design specialist at VGS. “Working around the clock, we produced 28 menu templates and several 3D video presentations, as well as assorted 2D video clips and dozens of specialized combo graphic images.”
The menu boards provide operators with the ability to quickly change menu items, calorie information, pricing and more. The system also allows the operator to change graphics, video clips and food imagery—helpful when switching from a sporting event to an entertainment event in the same venue. An advanced scheduling feature expedites immediate changes right at the concession stand. In addition to menu board functionality, the system also can be used to direct guests to the concession of their choice.
VGS is a full-service manufacturer of next-generation signage and also supplies complementary products to support menu board systems, including wall murals, freestanding displays, countertop displays and wall and ceiling displays.
