VERC, Sheetz And Flory’s Featured In NACS Ideas 2 Go, And More…

VERC Enterprises, Sheetz and Flory’s Convenience & Deli of New York were named to the NACS 2015 Ideas 2 Go, showcasing emerging concepts that redefine convenience. VERC tested a program to provide work to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities that also significantly increased company culture. VERC expanded the program to provide employment to other hard-to-place people and saw its culture continue to flourish. Sheetz was cited for its new college location in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is the first modern location for Sheetz without gasoline or parking, with a complete focus on food and beverage offerings. Flory’s two-story facility in Fishkill, New York, features an old-time look and feel, with modern interior and exterior design elements and an upscale food service offering. Joseph Petrowski, former CEO of the Cumberland Farms Gulf Oil Group and founder and managing director of Mercanton Partners, a private equity group focused on energy distribution, will be one of the key speakers at the New England Convenience Store Association’s annual meeting and dinner on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Hilton-Boston Dedham Hotel. Ken Sadowsky, known to many as the “Beverage Whisperer,” is the other keynote speaker. The program begins at 5:30 p.m.
