Target has added another layer of security to its store-issued credit cards. The retailer has become the first big credit card issuer to send customers new cards with a computer chip and PINs. In 2013, Target experienced a major security breach that compromised customer data. The store has started sending notices to existing credit card customers that new MasterCard cards will be in the mail. The change also comes after the FBI issued a warning that consumers using an EMV card at a POS terminal should also use a PIN instead of a signature to verify the transaction…
CVS Health kicked off Project Health, its annual free health screening campaign, at 20 CVS/pharmacy locations on Oct. 15. Over the next four months, the Project Health wellness program will deliver more than $10 million worth of free health services to multicultural communities. Project Health offers an array of free comprehensive health risk assessments, including blood pressure, Body Mass Index, glucose and total cholesterol screenings. Project Health events are held in multicultural communities where residents disproportionately suffer from certain treatable conditions, such as diabetes. Additionally, Project Health events will offer discussions with health plan representatives at select locations, so attendees can better understand the health insurance options available to them in the marketplace. Project Health events, held in markets with large multicultural populations, are open to everyone and do not require an appointment. Locations planned include Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Dayton, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Tampa and Washington, D.C. …
Dollar General is restructuring its corporate support functions and will eliminate approximately 255 positions. The restructuring includes approximately 115 vacant positions.
