Friday, Nov. 6, is the deadline for submitting operator awards nominations to the New England Convenience Store & Energy Marketers Association (NECSEMA). The contest, now in its 24th year, identifies store managers, franchise operators and owners who run an exceptionally good store, have established a creative merchandising program, possess notable customer skills and run an exceptional food service program and who actively support a community, charity or legislative cause. The American Licorice Co. has announced the winners of its 2015 Broker Management Awards, honoring top performers. Shankman and Associates Inc. won the Broker of the Year Award based on the ability to deliver on assigned customer quotas and item distribution objectives for the fiscal year. Crossmark C-Store (McLane Team) won in the category of new item distribution based on total accounts placed, as well as achievement of new item sales above broker percentage of total sales. Snyder’s-Lance says that partial proceeds from the company’s seasonal snacks will benefit families in need through a partnership with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Select retailers will have specially-marked Toys for Tots displays with snacks from Snyder’s of Hanover, Lance, Cape Cod, Archway and Stella D’oro. For the first 500,000 packages sold, Snyder’s-Lance will make a contribution to support Toys for Tots up to $25,000 through Dec. 31.
