The store offers above and underground parking for shoppers, a high-quality butcher shop, a store-prepared sushi department, a vast daily selection of hot and cold prepared foods, plus a full line assortment of natural, organic and international products. Allegiance Retail Services supports independent supermarkets such as Foodtown, Freshtown, Freshco, D’Agostino, LaBella Marketplace, Brooklyn Harvest, Market Fresh, Big Deal Food Market and Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace with marketing, advertising, technological and merchandising support, as well as a full line of Foodtown private label products…

A&P has received bankruptcy court approval to turn over nearly three dozen leases of unsold stores to the location landlords who in turn can lease the space to new tenants. The leases include locations in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania…

The National Grocers Association (NGA) on Jan. 11 announced the promotions of four of its staff members. NGA, an Arlington, Virginia-based national trade association representing the independent supermarket industry, promoted Greg Ferrara to SVP-government relations and public affairs; Matthew Ott to COO; Maggie Lyons to senior director of government relations; and Laura Strange to senior director of communications and marketing.
