Shelton, Connecticut-based BIC completed its acquisition of Cello Pens, India’s largest manufacturer and distributor of writing instruments, in December 2015. BIC and Cello have selected SIS Group International as the representative of Cello Pens branded and private-label products in the U.S. Earlier this year, Cello India ended its distribution and representation arrangements with Cello North America. Chris Mills, president of BIC North America Consumer Products, said, “SIS is a seasoned manufacturer representative with extensive experience and knowledge of the U.S. stationery business and has a history of strong manufacturing partnerships. We are confident that this expertise, along with their focus on providing outstanding customer service, uniquely positions SIS International as the right partner to supply high-quality, great value Cello products to the U.S. marketplace”…
Advent International of Boston has engaged Todd Lachman, former global president of Mars Petcare, and Larry Bodner, former CFO of Big Heart Pet Brands, as senior advisors. Lachman and Bodner will work closely with Advent’s global retail, consumer and leisure team to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in the consumer products space. According to Advent International, both have a particular focus on opportunities in the food, home and personal care sub-sectors, with an emphasis on situations where they could provide direct executive leadership.
