Key Food Stores Co-operative Inc., a Northeast chain of primarily independently owned and corporate grocery stores, has opened two stores in New Jersey: The Food Emporium in Garwood and Super World Fresh in Belleville.
Within its 50,000 s.f. space, The Food Emporium has 5,000 s.f. dedicated to fresh produce offerings—including all natural and organic items—from local New Jersey farms. The store also offers more than 10,000 organic, natural and gluten-free items across all departments for customer convenience.
Other features of the store include an oyster bar in the seafood department; an onsite butcher to cut meat to order in the meat department; new catering services and a hibachi in the deli department; an international cheese center offering imported and domestic products that can be custom-sliced to order; and a large bakery department with fresh bread and desserts baked from scratch on premises daily.
The store also includes a cafeteria and fresh-squeezed juice bar, as well as coffee, tea, cappuccino and espresso.
The Super World Fresh in Belleville, a 54,000-s.f. store, features expanded seafood, meat, deli and produce departments. In addition, 10,000 s.f. is dedicated solely to the international department, with products from different countries and regions all over the world.
Key Food Stores Co-operative comprises more than 220 primarily member-owned and corporate grocery stores with $2.3 billion in annual sales.
