Kontos Foods, a Paterson, New Jersey, manufacturer and distributor of traditional artisan breads and Mediterranean specialty foods, recently donated nearly $20,000 worth of Kontos White Pocket-Less Pita bread to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, an organization dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty in the state. “This donation has the potential to help thousands of food-insecure families in New Jersey, providing a nutritious base for breakfasts, lunches or dinners,” said Steve Kontos, VP of Kontos Foods. “The Community FoodBank plays a crucial role in coordinating the provision of food, help and hope to our neighbors in need. We are proud to be able to help them and their partner charities as they seek to fill the emptiness caused by hunger in our community.”

The donated bread—White Pocket-Less Pita in the 7-inch size—is a versatile flatbread that is “Hand-Stretched for Fluffiness.” It can be used for sandwiches, in a breadbasket, or cut into wedges and served with dips and spreads.
