Amazon Considers Opening C-Stores And Drive-Thru Grocery Sites, And More…

Amazon is exploring opening convenience stores and drive-thru grocery pickup sites. The Seattle-based company is looking at building small brick-and-mortar stores and curbside pickup locations for perishable items and grocery products…

The New Jersey Legislature has passed a 23-cent gasoline tax hike, sending the measure to Gov. Chris Christie for his signature. The legislative package includes a $16 billion deal to fund road, bridge and transit projects for eight years and increases the state’s gas tax, which has not risen since 1988, to 37.5 cents per gallon. In exchange for the higher gas tax, the package reduces the sales tax rate in phases and eliminates the estate tax, which applies to estates valued at more than $675,000. If the governor signs the bill, higher gas prices will come in November…

Anheuser-Busch completed its acquisition of SABMiller on Oct. 10, following approvals by shareholders of both companies and regulatory officials in all the major countries in which the companies operate.
