Ocean Spray this week transformed Boston’s City Hall Plaza into a cranberry bog. As a sponsor of the Forbes Under 30 Summit, Ocean Spray fueled discussions around the future of food, science, technology and innovation inside its 720-s.f. cranberry bog display, filled with a half-ton of fresh cranberries. It was the first time the cooperative brought its bog display to Boston.

“The Forbes Under 30 Summit provided (Ocean Spray) with a wonderful opportunity to engage with some of the finest innovative minds in business, politics and social entrepreneurship,” said Randy Papadellis, president and CEO of Ocean Spray, a cooperative that is 86 years old and owned by 700 family farms. Fruit is sold to more than 100 countries around the world. Ocean Spray’s corporate headquarters is located in Lakeville-Middleboro, Massachusetts.

“At Ocean Spray, we are all cranberry growers charged with growing the market for our fruit,” said Papadellis. “And we’re looking for our next generation of growers—people who can bring fresh energy and ideas to the cooperative in a variety of fields from research and development to supply chain management to marketing and finance. We celebrate diversity of skills and talent…”

The Forbes Under 30 Summit brought global entrepreneurs of all ages to different venues all over Boston. The Summit included the Under 30 Village in Boston City Hall Plaza, which served as a meeting point for all summit participants, allowing them to network with each other and with speakers, watch presentations and performances, and seek career opportunities.
