After announcing more than a year ago that it would open in the old Lowes Foods location in the Cornerstone Shopping Center in Cary, North Carolina, H Mart will be ready for business on Thursday, Dec. 22. It will be the first Tar Heel State location for the Korean grocery chain, which currently operates 55 stores nationwide, according to FoodCary.com. The chain was founded in New York in 1982.
“H Mart is well known as the ‘one-stop shopping’ place for all shoppers of different ethnicities, backgrounds and ages. We strongly believe that H Mart Cary would be the foremost place that all people of different ethnicities, backgrounds and ages could visit, communicate and enjoy,” said a member of H Mart’s marketing team, according to FoodCary.
To celebrate its grand opening in Cary, H Mart is advertising Korean music and dance, as well as face painting, balloons and a bonus gift with any purchases of $30 or more.
“H Mart assures to provide differentiation (in) goods to meet the needs of the customers of all diversities and provide superb services,” Jung-Ho Bae, manager of the Cary location, told FoodCary.
In addition to H Mart’s groceries, with a focus on Korean products, the 46,000-s.f. store will include:
- Kang Nam Town—South Korean restaurant chain
- Deli Manjoo—Snack vendor
- BBQ Chicken—Korean-style chicken
- Thai Pantry—Thai cuisine
- don-Don: Udon-Donburi noodles
- Tuski—Ramen and Japanese food
- SGD Tofu House—Korean-style soup
- Tous les Jours—Full-service bakery
FoodCary reports that the store also will offer cosmetics from Tony Moly Cosmetics.
The Triangle H Mart is located at 1961 High House Road.
