Allegiance Retail Services (ARS) of Iselin, New Jersey, assisted in the grand opening of Foodtown of Honesdale, Pennsylvania, on March 31, and welcomed Dave Flederbach and family, the owner-operators, to Allegiance.
Foodtown of Honesdale is among the few owner-operated grocery stores in the market. Store officials said the goal is to offer quality goods at affordable prices coupled with personalized customer service.
The newly renovated 22,000-s.f. supermarket, located at 200 Willow Avenue in Honesdale, carries more than 30,000 items and offers an enhanced selection of fresh produce and quality meats; expanded natural and organic products; and local favorite items to meet the community’s needs.
The supermarket also will offer value-priced items under private labels that include Foodtown and Green Way Natural and Organic.
“Today’s consumers are looking for more natural foods at prices they can afford. The Green Way private label line offers natural/organic alternatives to families who might otherwise feel ‘priced out’ of this market,” said John Derderian, president and COO of ARS.
