Target plans to roll out a next-day delivery pilot in the Minneapolis area this summer. The program, called Target Restock, will allow shoppers to order household essentials—such as laundry detergent, paper towels, granola bars and coffee—and have them delivered the following day.

Select team members at Target headquarters are now testing Target Restock, the company announced on its website this week, adding that it created the program “to save busy guests time, and make it easier than ever to get household essentials delivered quickly.”Target logo deliveryOnce the pilot is live this summer, Minneapolis-area shoppers who have a REDcard will be eligible to visit a dedicated online site to access thousands of household essentials. From there, they will be able to fill a box with multiple items and have their orders shipped to their homes for a low, flat fee, according to Target. The items will be packaged at a nearby store, allowing the retailer to fulfill orders placed before 1:30 p.m. by the next business day.
