SpartanNash Pharmacies Reserve Time For At-Risk Store Guests

SpartanNash and its 62 Family Fare, D&W Fresh Market, Martin’s Super Markets, VG’s and Forest Hills Foods pharmacies in Michigan have set aside time twice per week for store guests most at risk of contracting coronavirus (COVID-19), including older adults, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals.SpartanNash logo

Reserved hours will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 8-9 a.m., coinciding with SpartanNash’s reserved hours at all company locations.

“At each of our pharmacies—and all store locations throughout Michigan—SpartanNash is committed to ensuring the well-being and safety of our family of associates, customers and communities,” said Tom Swanson, SpartanNash EVP and general manager, Corporate Retail. “By offering these reserved hours, we are also expanding the hours our pharmacies are open, allowing us to continually raise the bar on the service we can provide to our store guests during this ongoing coronavirus pandemic, especially those most at risk.”

In addition to the reserved pharmacy hours, SpartanNash pharmacies also offer free, same-day prescription delivery at all Family Fare, D&W Fresh Market, Martin’s Super Markets, VG’s and Forest Hills Foods pharmacies throughout the state. Free, same-day prescription delivery began on April 1 and is available for store guests within a 10-mile radius of their local SpartanNash-owned store, with delivery times varying by location.

In keeping with social distancing guidelines, all deliveries are touchless; the prescription is placed on the porch, and the delivery driver steps back and calls the store guest to let them know it is ready for them to pick up. Once the driver has visual confirmation the prescription has been picked up, they continue their delivery route.
