Food Lion opened a new store in West Columbia, South Carolina, on Wednesday, July 22, located at 2916 Emanuel Church Road. The new store is open daily from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

“I’m extremely excited to open this new location in the community I call home,” said Brandon Miles, store manager. “I was born here, attended White Knoll Elementary, Middle and High School and have lived and worked around this community for all 37 years of my life. I’m proud to welcome my neighbors and my family to shop with us and experience our expanded assortment and variety throughout our new store. I look forward to seeing new faces, welcoming old friends and serving my community at our new location.”

New store offers expanded assortment

Customers can choose from an expanded product assortment, including in-store fresh-cut fruit and vegetables, more “grab-and-go” meal options to help make dinner easier, expanded catering selections, and the Food Lion To-Go service, which enables customers to order their favorite items for pickup or delivery.

The store offers a variety of Food Lion’s Nature’s Promise-brand beef, pork, poultry, milk, eggs, bottled water, cereal, coffee and other items. Nature’s Promise is Food Lion’s brand of wholesome and organic products made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or synthetic colors.

Customers also can choose from a variety of cuts of 100 percent USDA choice beef, as well as hand-battered fried chicken and custom cakes and photocakes. Additionally, customers can find an expanded variety of local offerings, such as fresh produce from W.P. Rawl Farms from Pelion, South Carolina, Columbia’s-own Cromer’s Popcorn and Iron City Coffee freshly roasted in nearby Blythewood, South Carolina.

To help introduce the new store to his neighbors, Miles recently delivered thermal lunch bags filled with snacks and gift cards to Lexington County Fire Station 19, staff at White Knoll Elementary and Middle Schools and several local businesses.

In another commitment to the West Columbia community, Food Lion Feeds is donating a commercial refrigerator to Crossroads Worldwide Outreach Center to assist the organization with addressing increased demand from neighbors in need as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Once installed, Miles and other local Food Lion associates will stock the new refrigerator with fresh produce to nourish local families.

Food Lion, based in Salisbury, North Carolina, since 1957, has more than 1,000 stores in 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states and employs more than 77,000 associates. Food Lion is a company of Ahold Delhaize USA, the U.S. division of Zaandam-based Ahold Delhaize.
