Sprouts Farmers Market will open in Denver, Colorado, at 3555 North Central Park Blvd. at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The new store will expand local access to fresh and healthy groceries and will be open daily from 7 a.m.-10 p.m.

To celebrate the new store, every shopper on opening day will receive a free reusable shopping bag with purchase. Local customers also can enter to win a $500 Sprouts gift card by visiting the new location’s page at sprouts.com/stores.

Sprouts is closely following CDC and local health authority guidelines related to COVID-19 while regularly providing store team members, who are required to wear masks, with the latest safety guidance. In addition to regular food safety and cleaning procedures, Sprouts has invested additional labor hours into stores to allow for more frequent cleaning, paying close attention to high-touch areas such as service counters, restrooms, carts and checkout lanes. Stores are also implementing steps to promote social distancing and have installed plexiglass barriers at registers to add protection for team members and customers.

Sprouts gives back to Denver communities

The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation recently teamed up with longtime partner and grant recipient Denver Urban Gardens (DUG) to provide at-home gardening kits at no cost to 500 local families in need, which help with food security amid the pandemic.

The To-Grow Boxes filled with seeds, seedlings and educational resources on how to successfully start and maintain a garden at home provide two seasons of vegetables and empower families to grow their own fresh produce. DUG has supported Denver residents in creating sustainable, food-producing neighborhood gardens since 1985.

As part of Sprouts’ commitment to “zero waste,” the Denver store will donate unsold and edible groceries to Food Bank of the Rockies through the grocer’s Food Rescue program. In 2019, Sprouts stores and distribution centers donated 27 million pounds of product, equivalent to 23 million meals. Food that is not fit for donation is provided to local cattle farms and composting facilities. Sprouts’ evolving “zero waste” initiatives help minimize food waste while reducing the impact of hunger and the company’s environmental footprint.

Sprouts is known for pioneering its unique grocery model by offering a store layout featuring fresh produce at the center of the store, an expansive bulk foods section and a vitamin department focused on overall wellness. Sprouts also offers a unique assortment of healthier products with special attributes, such as plant-based, gluten-free, keto-friendly and grass-fed, to meet the growing and diverse needs of today’s consumer. Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Sprouts employs more than 35,000 team members and operates more than 350 stores in 23 states from coast to coast.
