Key Food Stores Co-Operative Inc., a chain of primarily independently owned and corporate grocery stores, has announced the grand re-opening of its Key Food location at 751 Lydig Avenue in Bronx, New York. To celebrate, Key Food has offered special sales, entertainment and giveaways for customers.

“Sal Bonavita and his team worked tirelessly to renovate this Key Food and create a beautiful store for the community,” said VP of Business Development John Durante. “As you walk down each aisle, it’s clear just how much thought and effort was put into providing customers with a wonderful grocery shopping experience.”

This newly renovated Bronx Key Food has a produce department that now boasts nearly twice as much space as before. The dairy department offers a magnificent cheese case filled with treasures from around the world. A longtime neighborhood staple, the deli department has been updated with all new equipment in order to continue to meet and exceed customer expectations. Customers can now enjoy new offerings like store-made hot soup and breakfast, as well as a fresh-ground, hot coffee station.

“We are very proud to be able to offer the hardworking families in our community the quality store and shopping experience that they deserve, a challenge that COVID-19 made both harder and even more necessary,” said storeowner Salvatore M. Bonavita. “More than just a refresh of color and technology, our intention was to create a more open space for shopping while allowing for more variety in our produce, dairy and deli departments. Our customers deserve the best, and we continue our committment toward that goal.”

Key Food Stores Co-Operative was founded in Brooklyn in 1937 and now includes more than 315 primarily member-owned and corporate grocery stores with $3.2 billion in annual sales. In addition to Key Food, these stores operate under various other banners including: Food Universe, The Food Emporium, SuperFresh, Food Dynasty, and Gala Foods Supermarkets in all five boroughs, Long Island, upstate New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Florida.
