Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Co. and the city of Bossier City, Louisiana, announced that BGC has purchased naming rights of the Bossier City Arena to be known as the Brookshire Grocery Arena. Mayor Lo Walker made the announcement at a press conference held at the premiere entertainment venue Dec. 10.
“We are incredibly excited to extend our involvement and dedication to Bossier City and the surrounding community in this whole new way,” said Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO of BGC. “As it has been for more than 92 years, our mission is to provide customers with exceptional shopping experiences while also furthering our commitment to and involvement in the communities we serve. We look forward to a long and meaningful partnership with Bossier City to help bring tourism and revenue to the city.”
The Bossier City Arena is constantly rated among the top arenas in the U.S. and has become an industry leader among arenas its size. The partnership with BGC runs through 2030 and will start with a six-month branding period as the arena undergoes a transition.

BGC has served the Bossier City and Shreveport area for 60 years and now has 11 stores in the greater Bossier City area to serve the community. BGC is a regional family-owned grocery business that employs close to 16,000 individuals throughout Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas. The company operates 184 stores under the Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Fresh by Brookshire’s and Spring Market banners, along with three distribution centers and a corporate office in Tyler, Texas.
Owned by the city of Bossier City, the arena is a 270,000-square-foot facility capable of hosting up to 14,000 patrons. The venue features world-class concerts, family shows, ice-skating shows, motor sports, rodeos, conventions, religious and community events, as well as other special events. Since its opening in 2000, Bossier City’s Arena has been on the map as one of the top entertainment destinations in the South, hosting sold-out shows for Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, The Eagles, Taylor Swift, Lauren Daigle and more.
