Simply Almond received the title of Best Premium Drink in the 2020 Beverage Digest Awards, the publication’s annual recognition that celebrates excellence across the North American beverage industry.
Apopka, Florida-based Simply Beverages first made its mark with a promise of simple ingredients. In 2020, recognizing a need for more accessible, all-natural dairy alternatives, the brand introduced the Simply Almond.
Made with a handful of premium, all-natural ingredients and containing 50-90 calories per 8-fl-oz. serving, Simply Almond is offered in three flavors: Unsweetened, Original and Vanilla. And the Unsweetened flavor is made with just four ingredients: water, almonds, natural flavors and sea salt.
All flavors contain no added preservatives, gums or emulsifiers – a significant differentiator in a category where 99 percent of products contain thickeners to prevent separation. Simply Almond does not separate and has nothing to hide when it comes to ingredients as its clear packaging communicates, says the company. The 46-fl-oz. carafe was the first clear packaging in the dairy alternative category, too.
In addition to taste and refreshment, Beverage Digest judges award the Best Premium Drink distinction based upon top quality ingredients and craftsmanship, along with how products offer added value, differentiation and sophistication, as well as market impact and brand appeal. On Simply Almond, the Beverage Digest judges remarked, “A natural line extension and an excellent premium drink,” said Simply Beverages.
