Northgate González Market shared the joy and magic of Christmas this week by giving away 50,000 toys to children across Southern California. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Northgate’s 25th Annual Toy Giveaway looked a little different this year as new safety protocols were put in place to protect both employees and consumers.

Families in cars lined up for blocks to drive up and receive their toys from a cheerful Santa and his elves. Volunteers from the local college and local nonprofit organizations joined with store associates and executives to distribute the toys. Northgate toys

Northgate González Market understands families are being hard-pressed this year and facing challenges unlike others.

“The annual to giveaway is our way of showing gratitude to the stores’ local customers. For nearly 40 years, Northgate Market has strived to make every store a valued part of the community where they do business,” said Oscar González, the company’s co-president.

Founded in 1980, Northgate González Market is an authentic, family-owned and operated Hispanic supermarket chain with 41 stores in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego counties. Headquartered in Anaheim, California, the grocery retailer furthers its commitment to its communities through the González Reynoso Family Foundation, which provides scholarships and assists families in need.

The company was honored by The Shelby Report as its 2020 West Retailer of the Year. Click here for more information.
