New Saker ShopRite Opens In Wall Township, New Jersey

Saker ShopRites opened its newest store on May 19 – the ShopRite of 18th Avenue and Route 35, in Wall Township in Monmouth County, New Jersey, home to generations of the Saker family and their ShopRite stores. The state-of-the-art, 71,500-square-foot ShopRite supermarket is located at 1732 State Highway Route 35.

The new supermarket includes favorite ShopRite features such as a Saker ShopRites’ world class bakery with special occasion cakes and freshly made bread; a meat department with custom cut specialty meats; a full-service seafood department with daily, fresh catch deliveries; nutrition center; floral shop; full-service deli and produce department with organic and locally grown produce.

The store also features gourmet grab-and-go prepared foods with a selection of 1,000 freshly made items from both its own World Class Kitchens and Dearborn Farms, including a cheese monger with a selection of hundreds of cheeses from all over the world and an extensive salad and olive bar. Customers will find a large selection of organic and gluten-free products and new and innovative items from ShopRite’s award-winning store brands, Bowl & Basket, Paperbird and Wholesome Pantry, all at ShopRite’s low, everyday prices. 

The store also will stock local favorites such as Jones Bars, made in Manasquan; No Whey Vegan Chocolates, crafted in Lakewood; Glenda’s Kitchen gluten-free, gourmet cookies, which are baked nearby in the Atlantic Highlands, and Grown in Monmouth plants from local farms like Louis Davino Greenhouses.

The store also houses a pharmacy, full-service catering department and ShopRite from Home pick-up and delivery service. Additionally, the state-of-the-art store is outfitted with the latest energy-saving and sustainable technologies in refrigeration and lighting, including glass doors on the dairy and freezer cases, LED and T-8 lighting and environmentally friendly refrigerant systems.

Saker ShopRites owns and operates 32 ShopRite supermarkets, 30 pharmacies, two liquor stores and Dearborn Market and Garden Center in New Jersey. The fourth and fifth generation family-owned company employs more than 9,000 associates and is the biggest member-owner of Wakefern Food Corp., which is the largest retailer-owned supermarket cooperative in the United States.

Saker ShopRites maintains a century long family tradition of giving back to the communities in which they work and live. More than 1,300 Central Jersey organizations have benefited from the company’s charitable donations, including the Joan Dancy & PALS Foundation. Additionally,  Saker ShopRites supports ShopRite Partners In Caring, ShopRite’s year-round hunger-fighting initiative.

Since its inception in 1999, ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated nearly $50 million to food banks that support more than 2,000 charities. The new store will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight.
