Mariani Probiotic Prunes Wins Healthy Snack Award

The Mariani family has announced that Mariani’s Probiotic Prunes is a recipient of the 2022 Good Housekeeping Healthy Snack Awards. The California-grown prunes are infused with GanedenBC30 probiotics to deliver active cultures that are 10 times more effective than yogurt.

The award supports Mariani’s mission to help consumers who seek healthier options, especially with snacks, by producing dried fruit that help make the switch easier.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have our Probiotic Prunes included in this year’s healthy snack awards,” said Natalie Mariani Kling, Mariani marketing manager and a clinical certified nutritionist. “Prunes really are a superfood. While it’s well known that they ‘keep you regular,’ more and more research is showing that this is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the incredible benefits of prunes.”

Recent clinical studies have shown that prunes support bone health, heart health, dental health, gut health and increase antioxidant capacity. Known by scientists as the second brain, the gut is responsible for about 70 percent of the immune system and 90 percent of serotonin production, which affects sleep, mood, memory and other functions of the body.

The company states that the probiotic market category is projected to exceed $133 billion by 2030 globally, growing at a compound annual growth rate of more than 8 percent from 2021 to 2030.

Mariani Probiotic Prunes are featured on goodhousekeeping.com/healthysnacks. The prunes are available at retailers nationwide, including Stop & Shop, Safeway and Walmart, as well as online.
