Sylmar, California-based Vallarta Supermarkets has partnered with Los Altos Foods to encourage people to screen regularly for breast cancer detection by offering free mammograms at select stores during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The mammograms will be administered by Alinea Medical Imaging in mobile locations with accessible educational information.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Los Altos Foods again this year in providing women a convenient and efficient way to access preventive care at the same location where they shop,” said Lizette Gomez, director of marketing for Vallarta Supermarkets. “Early detection is key and making these mobile testing sites easily accessible, we hope will encourage and increase the number of Latinas getting screened early.”

The following locations will host free mobile testing sites. Specific times will vary by location and those interested in the free mammograms can book an appointment online.

Dates and locations of Vallarta Supermarkets mammogram testing site:

  • Oct. 7 – Vallarta Supermarkets, 7900 Imperial Hwy., Downey, California;
