Williamsville, New York-based Tops has begun its “Rip It, Win It, Live It Up” Monopoly game.

Customers have the chance to win the grand prize of either five years of free groceries or $20,000 of any gift cards the customers choose, in addition to other prizes and offers. The grocer is also offering a second chance sweepstakes of a $10,000 vacation.

People can get tickets by playing each time they check out at a Tops Friendly Markets location using a Tops BonusPlus card. Each transaction will receive one game ticket and customers can receive additional game tickets for each participating vendor product purchased.

Last year, Tops celebrated its 60th anniversary with the return of its “Rip It and Bling” Monopoly game. Daniel L. of Manlius of New York won the top prize of $60,000, followed by two winners – Karen W. of North Boston, New York and Debra W. of Cheektowaga, New York – who won $5,000 in free gas and groceries.

Customers were able to get Rip It and Bling Monopoly tickets for a chance to win more than $17 million in prizes, including $100 in free gas and groceries, gift cards and entertainment.

New last year were the chances to win money-saving tickets off of groceries by collecting the four railroad tickets to save $10 off or two luxury properties (Boardwalk and Park Place) to save $25 off groceries. Tops has brought back this program in addition to the Monopoly game.

Customers are also able to help Tops give back to local charities when they receive a Community Chest ticket. Inside certain tickets, there will be a $1 donation code – when customers redeem the ticket at check out, Tops will donate $1 to a local food bank, children’s hospital or school on the customer’s behalf.
