Weis Markets Offers Free Virtual Cooking Classes

Sunbury, Pennsylvania-based Weis Markets has added new virtual nutrition programs and social media videos to its monthly schedule to celebrate Family Meals Month in September.

The cooking classes, which are free to Weis Rewards Card holders, are designed by Weis Markets’ team of registered dietitians to accommodate various customer needs and inspire their next meal.

Family meals help to promote healthy communication and family bonding and are known to improve fruit and vegetable consumption.

“Our team is passionate about the benefits of enjoying more family meals together,” said Kimberly Varner, senior regional dietitian for Weis Markets. “Our virtual classes will take the stress out of meal planning and inspire Weis Markets customers to incorporate easy, nutritious, home-cooked meals into their weekly routines.”

During the month of September, customers can participate in virtual cooking classes featuring the following recipes:

  • Sheet Pan Lemon-Parmesan Chicken;
  • Strawberry-Banana French Toast; and
  • Sausage and Pepper Tortellini Bake.

In addition to virtual cooking classes, Weis customers can find family friendly recipe videos on the Weis Markets Facebook page during September.

These new family focused recipes enhance the Weis dietitian team’s slate of program themes, including healthy snacks cooking class, kids cooking class, meal prep with a dietitian, back to school snacks and nutrient crash course.

Registration is required and closes 48 hours before each class. Ingredient lists for cooking classes will be emailed to registrants about one week prior to each class. All class participants will receive a Weis Markets coupon for $5 off their next purchase of $35 or more (limit one coupon per month per rewards member).

Founded in 1912, Weis Markets Inc. is a mid-Atlantic food retailer operating 197 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, West Virginia and Virginia.
